Consultations
Health problems in pets vary from the subtle to the extreme in their onset and severity and it is always better to work on the concept of “if in doubt, check them out”. Much can be gained from your observations, so take careful note of the timing and nature of symptoms and we appreciate if you can show us photos (eg of diarrhoea or vomit) or videos (of coughing, lameness, seizures etc) as this forms a valuable part of the history and may help us make a diagnosis. Sometimes, it is the most important part of the diagnostic process!
Clinical examination is the next step and we carefully work our way through the body systems to ensure all is well, or to monitor the progress of conditions we are managing.
Treatments may then be advised, taking into account your pet’s personality and your abilities as well as the nature of the problem. If a recheck is advised, we don’t make that suggestion without careful consideration as we don’t want to have you or your pet come in unnecessarily.
